Chris Henderson

Business Manager
Chris has been the Business Manager and Company Secretary for MBF since 2012 and is responsible to the Board for setting and implementing strategic plans approved by the Directors. He is the Responsible Manager for the AFSL held by MBF and ensures governance and compliance policies and procedures are in place. Chris is also responsible for the overall results of the business and the effectiveness of the operations undertaken by the administration team.

Rachel O'Connor

Office and Membership Manager
Rachel is our Membership Manager; her role includes supervision of the membership team, overseeing membership applications and annual renewals.  Rachel reports directly to the Board on all membership matters and will raise any policy or technical membership issues on behalf of members.  She is also part of the Facilities team and assists Michelle in looking after the MBF property in South Melbourne.

Christine Simpson

Claims Manager
As the Claims Manager, Christine provides advice and assistance to members through the claims process – claimants will need to talk to Christine in order to make the process as smooth as possible. She reports directly to the Board on all claims matters and is also the Privacy Officer. Christine is the primary contact in relation to the MBF Internal Complaints Handling Process.

Emma Young

Marketing Manager
Emma works with both the AFAP and the MBF as the Marketing Manager.  She plays an essential role in developing the dual promotion of both organisations through joint marketing efforts and campaigns, scholarships, events, and functions. Emma undertakes AFSL training for AFAP representatives who wish to be MBF Authorised Representatives and provides a multitude of behind the scenes coordination between the two organisations.

Cathryn James

Accountant
Cath has been with MBF for more than 4.5 years starting as senior bookkeeper and progressing to take on the full accounting role. She is currently studying to complete her CPA degree, having completed a Bachelor of Business in Accounting in 2014. Cath oversees daily accounting and is responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions including the monthly financial reporting to the Board and annual statutory financial statements.

Michelle Vong

Facilities Manager & Accounts Assistant
Michelle has been with the MBF for over two years, assisting in the accounts department as well as being the Facilities Manager for the MBF building in South Melbourne. She handles all aspects of bookkeeping, accounts payable and daily financial transactions. Michelle has a Bachelor of Accounting and is currently studying for her CPA qualifications.

Michelle Carabott

Administration Assistant
Michelle started working full time at the AAPMBF in April 2007 as the Building Administration Officer. After maternity leave in 2011/12 she returned part-time as an Administration Assistant where she assists MBF staff with membership related queries and projects.

Jessica Brownscombe

Administration & Marketing Assistant
Jessica is the newest addition to the MBF team, commencing in September 2015. She provides front line customer service as part of the membership team with information to new members, processing applications and answering members’ queries.  As well as undertaking a number of projects in IT, Jess’s role has recently been broadened into assisting with the marketing and social media aspects of the MBF.
